Were you feeling a little burned out this school year?
I don’t know about you, but I sure was! I saw all of the signs in myself and in other SLPs I know. In this episode of SLP Coffee Talk, I sat down with Kenzie Thomas to talk all about SLP burnout and how we can beat it and find joy in our profession again.
Kenzie grew up in small town Iowa and moved to Nashville, Tennessee after receiving her Master's degree for her clinical fellowship in speech pathology.
Since working in several outpatient pediatric clinics, switching from an employee to an independent contractor, and now starting her own private practice back in Iowa, she has become passionate about supporting fellow SLPs in beating burnout and finding their love for their career again.
In This Episode You’ll Discover:
- Kenzie’s burnout journey and how she learned to overcome it as an SLP
- How Kenzie overcame her self-doubt in her work
- Signs you might be facing burnout
- Advice and tips to avoid burnout in your work
- Organization and work-life balance tips that SLPs need to know
- What you need to do when you’re approaching burnout
- How to determine your priorities
- Tips for exploring your options and opportunities as an SLP
- What you need to watch for when you’re interviewing for a new position
I hope you loved this episode with Kenzie! If you want to learn more from her, you can follow her on Instagram and check out her private practice on Instagram. You can also get her free morning routines, daily planner, and nightly journal pages here.
There’s still time to sign up for our upcoming virtual conference on July 22nd! 10 hours of relevant and practical PD for school-based SLPs! 6 hours live! Sign up at Speechretreat.com.
