The Bag I’m Taking To Grandma’s Companion Pack!!

Did you LOVE the winter book, The Jacket I Wear In The Snow?!  Well, here is another one of Shirley Neitzel's amazing stories!  Her books are great for working on vocabulary and sequencing with TONS of opportunities for repetition and bombardment included.

In this companion pack:

-Sequencing Pictures:  Big version can be used as large visuals while telling and retelling story.  If you print two copies of this version, students can play memory matching games with the vocabulary.  Small version can be used for sequencing on construction paper or a paint stick.

-Go Togethers Match:  Vocabulary from and related to the story are provided for matching by associations.

-Comprehension Board Game:  Students can practice their recall and comprehension skills on the task cards to move across the board game.  Various question types are used for practice.

-Following Directions Game:  Print and laminate the “bag” page.  Print and laminate the items cards and provide them to your students.  Read the direction cards to your students to help them practice multi-step directions incorporating prepositions.

-Describing With Adjectives Worksheet: Most of the  adjectives from story are provided on cards for students to match with nouns from/related to the story.

-What To Pack?  Students will sort items into what they should pack to go to stay at grandma’s and what they should not pack.
