One thing that is all the rage are MEMES and GIFs.  They are flying all over social media.  Hey…we love them too as SLPs!

You can easily make your own GIFs (basically video version of memes) using a website… GIPHY.

Students can make their own or you can make them and present them to your students to work on a variety of goals such as:

  • Articulation
  • Vocabulary
  • Story recall
  • Idioms/figurative language
  • Sentence structure
  • and more!

I will walk you through how you can make your own and edit them so you can make them in or for your speech room!  (disclaimer….if you are letting your students make their own, make sure you preview the search terms they will enter!)

I will walk you through the steps if you were to make a GIF!  Let’s use the sample for working on the articulation sound /r/!  First…we will need a GIF video that has some /r/ in it already…so we might search “rain” or “rabbit” or “railroad.”  Whatever you want!  Go with the students’ interests!
