Cupcake Cause & Effect

August 13, 2012 Leave a Comment

You have mentioned that you are looking for higher level thinking materials.  It can also be difficult to find materials ideal for older elementary students.  You asked, I answered!

Since I had to purchase graphics for this activity, it is on sale at TpT.  Don't worry, I will continue to post freebies as well!  However, you will be getting A HUGE file for this download!  I tried to think of all the materials you would need to make a complete lesson or several speech sessions.

What does this file include?

Visual supports!!  It is extremely helpful to show our students exactly what is expected of them!  I have included a poster for cause and effect.

Matching cards!!  I love to use cards to play memory or go fish to help reinforce a concept.  Print and glue onto card stock, index cards, or construction paper and laminate!

“What's the effect?”
You can use these cards with any game or to just drill.  You can read it to your students or have them read it own their own.  They can use the visual supports to verbally express an effect.  Can they defend their responses?

“What's the cause?”
Again, these cards can be used with any game such as Jenga, Connect 4, Chutes and Ladders, and more!  They can select a card out of a hat, paper bag, Ned's Head, or just from a pile.  Students can verbally express what the cause is for each effect mentioned on the card.

I hope you enjoy my first TpT product.  I tried finishing it in time for you to take advantage of the back to school sale through August 13th, 2012.  Just use promo code BTS12 to receive %10 off.  Click here to check it out!
